Photo Tour of Morocco: From Ocean Shores to the Sahara Desert

Morocco is a country in North Africa, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. This journey takes us through its stunning diversity — from ocean views and ancient cities to vast deserts and high mountain peaks.

Day 1

Our adventure begins in the southern resort city of Agadir.
Our first destination is the fishing village of Tifnit, known for its long, empty beaches and dramatic rocky coastline. Nearby, we’ll explore a mini-desert with golden dunes.
Next, we travel to Legzira Beach, famous for its natural stone arches carved by the ocean. As the sun sets, the surrounding cliffs glow in deep shades of orange and terracotta — a perfect setting for evening photography.

Day 2

We leave the hotel early and head to the mountain town of Tafraout.
Located in the scenic Ameln Valley in the Anti-Atlas Mountains, Tafraout is known for its pink granite rock formations, Berber villages, and almond and argan trees.
We’ll also visit the surreal Painted Rocks — a colorful art installation set against the stark desert landscape.
Later, we travel to the town of Agdz, passing through breathtaking terrain with dramatic shifts in color and texture — ideal for photo stops.
Overnight in a charming Moroccan riad, where we’ll also have a chance for an indoor photo session, time permitting.

Day 3

We continue toward the Sahara Desert.
This 250 km journey winds through arid, mountainous terrain with ever-changing landscapes.
Along the way, we’ll visit traditional Berber settlements, share tea, and photograph daily life.
In the evening, we arrive in Erfoud for an overnight stay.

Day 4

We travel deeper into the desert to the village of Merzouga.
Here, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, we’ll capture the magical atmosphere of desert life.
In the morning — a photo session with camels in the dunes.
Lunch break, followed by evening golden-hour photography and caravan-style walks across the sand.

Day 5

In the morning, we head toward the city of Ouarzazate.
Upon arrival, we check into a hotel located on the grounds of a Hollywood film studio — the filming site for over 20 major productions, including Game of Thrones.
Evening shoot in and around the local fortress.

Day 6

We visit Aït Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village on the banks of the Ouarzazate River.
This UNESCO-listed ksar dates back to the 11th century and is a remarkable example of traditional Moroccan earthen architecture.
Its preserved clay towers and maze-like alleys offer incredible photo opportunities.
In the afternoon, we depart for the High Atlas Mountains, stopping along the way for mountain photography.
Overnight in a riad.

Day 7

It’s hard to imagine snow-capped peaks rising above the desert — but today we photograph at altitudes above 3,000 meters, surrounded by mountain grandeur.

Day 8

Excursion to the stunning Ouzoud Waterfalls — a lush contrast to the arid south.

Day 9

Arrival in vibrant Marrakech. Free time for city exploration and photography.

Day 10

A final stop in Essaouira — a charming coastal town known for its whitewashed buildings, blue boats, and relaxed atmosphere. A peaceful end to an unforgettable adventure.
